Speech of the Virgen del Rosal for the peoples of Latin America
The speech of the Virgen del Rosal for the peoples of Latin America is a performance in sign language that denounces corrupt political practices in the Republic of Colombia.
Money
Money is an installation that tries to reflect on the cultural relationship between poverty, discrimination and drug trafficking in the Republic of Colombia. It was exhibited in 2018 at the Bolivarian Museum of Contemporary Art as part of a retrospective on outstanding women in art.
Minimal gestures
Minimal gestures is a series of performances based on the idea that everyday gestures are the basic unit of collective thinking, that reflects the sedimented knowledge within the individual about the social prerogatives; and search with its visibilization to promote reflections about how we relate to ourselves, with our neighbors and with the particular universe in which each one exists.
This work was awarded for “La vitrina” in 2012, and commissioned for exhibition by organization Lugar a Dudas. (3 projects are selected per year for this competition).
Nomad
Nomada is an artistic research that seeks a “metaphysical” of the errant expressions of an individual, looking with it metaphorize a phenomenon of our time, an existential propensity that leads us from one situation to another, from one place to another, from one life to another…
Uses a methodology similar to that of a philosophical inquiry, that seeks a synoptic view of different aspects of the same phenomenon to identify the internal structure that illuminates the problems. The research is based on the information I get from my family and friends, making reference to memory as a structuring element of personality.
During the time in which I developed this research, I have conducted exercises in different media and formats. Initially I focused on remembering and organizing memories of spaces in which I had stayed for more than 15 consecutive days: the area, the number of residents, the space per person, the amount and clarity of the memories, the generation of links affective, if I returned to space … etc. With this information I built a database to analyze the information that use mathematical and statistical functions, result of which it was produced a “report” with different graphic materials, that show different aspects of this wandering attitude and suggest connections with a problematic broad as the construction of individuality in contemporary context.
This work was selected for Pabellón Artecámara by Feria Internacional de Arte de Bogotá ARTBO 2012.
Manuela send me a Letter
Manuela mándame una carta is an installation made up with origami modules that shows the dialog between an historic figure and a contemporary woman about the feminine stereotypes.
This work was awarded in the National Contest of Interventions of the Secretary of Culture of Bogotá D.C. Quinta de Bolívar Bogotá D.C. 2007; and acquired by the Permanent Collection of the Bolivar Museum in Havana, Cuba.
